The City of Fargo has several tax exemptions available for commercial properties.

The Renaissance Zone Program includes two (2) primary incentives, which include the possibility of property tax and income tax exemptions for qualified projects as well as opportunities to pursue historic preservation and renovation tax credits.

Low interest loan programs for new and existing businesses, matching grants for business remodel and sign replacements, incentive funding for existing and new child care facilities, and grant opportunities for qualifying projects that enhance quality of life in the community.

Upon annual renewal of ND Childcare License, existing providers are each eligible for up to $1,000 in annual assistance.

Through the Growth Capital Program the RRCF purchases up to 25% of a commercial loan originated by a lender and subordinates our interest to the participating lending institution, thereby increasing a borrower's lending capability. The participating bank will service the loan as they normally would. A typical loan will be for real estate, equipment or working capital up to $1 million.

The Community Development Loan Fund (CDLF) was established to provide gap financing and equity investment for projects that will create or retain jobs for low to moderate income persons.

This fund is also designed to support future development of licensed child care services, diversifying the local economy through supporting small business starts and expansion and community enrichment, vibrancy and quality of life.

This program supports and encourages business development in rural North Dakota communities. Eligible entrepreneurs can access as much as $250,000 for purchase of real estate, fixed assets, working capital and inventory.

Under this fund, the applicant(s) must be in Dunn County and employ one to 10 people or be a new venture that would be located in and employ people in Dunn County.

The Community Enhancement Funds will provide resources to organizations and communities that are working to create, improve, and strengthen the quality of life by marketing & promotions and enhancing job development through the cultural, historical, recreational, educational, health/fitness and social/ethnic activities in our trade area.

The Commercial Exterior Revitalization Grant program is geared towards improving the creation and expansion of commercial and retail sectors within the Commercial Districts of Crosby.

Two separate $1 million revolving loan pools were created in 2007 and 2009 to assist with business start-ups, expansions and retention in Mandan and the surrounding 10-mile radius within Morton County.
